In these last days of December I’d like to remind you of Who is with you. For you. Loving you. Holding you. It’s Jesus.

I know this year didn’t turn out like you expected it to. For some, the disappointments are overwhelming. Others, you’re just tired of being tired. You’ve been carrying the weight of hope deferred and your heart is sick. I hear the thoughts of how can I keep trusting? Don’t lose hope, friend. Jesus is here.

My prayer for you is that comfort and joy would find you wherever you are tonight and that the healing your heart needs would come. I’m asking for a fresh wind of Gods love to revive you. Sustain you and see you through to the completion of his promise for you and your loved ones.

Don’t lose hope! There is so much more to your story. 🌟

The other day I met some really amazing older ladies. They were so kind and funny. As we were talking one of them looked at me and said something so affirming about me and it was like a jolt of lightening to my soul.

The Lord is sending you people who will confirm, affirm, and call you out of hiding. For some, these reminders will be like an echo in your soul. You’ve known it, even walked in it but you’ve been on pause and began to question if you would ever hear go again. For others, you won’t want to receive it because you really don’t believe it, believe it!! For some, this might be something you’ve known but felt like it was just you who thought that, it’s not! For others, you walked away out of pain and hurt, the Lord is calling you back.

The Lord loves you!! The Lord sees you. He knows you. Come to him. Believe him, again. Don’t go one more moment believing that he’s forsaken you. This is your reminder, he hasn’t! ❤️

His Will. His Way.

The other day I was praying about a situation that has honestly, taken way too long to be resolved. I’m tired. Irritated. Frustrated. I found myself saying “I’m done” when I heard this echo in my heart…My will, My way. I immediately began to cry and dropped my attitude.

Truth is, I am done…doing it, my way. Thinking, my way. Acting, my way.

Whatever needs to be done I cannot do it apart from the Lord. He is the only one who knows the end from the beginning. It’s his will and his way.

I don’t know what has you done, but can I redirect your thoughts?

The Bible says he delights in the details of our lives. That tells me there is no one more invested in our lives than Jesus. My life, your life, he has it all under control. He is not worried, not frustrated, and not in a hurry. We might feel like we are running out of time, patience, and resources, but he is not. We are in the most capable and caring hands right now and thankfully he’s not done with us, yet. ❤️

A New Year’s Prayer

Last year on this day I posted this prayer. He answered in all of the ways I never expected. This is the mystery and the adventure of walking with Jesus. Walking with Jesus doesn’t always guarantee a seat at most tables, a comfortable life, or a problem free existence.

A dear friend would tell me …Em, you’re anointed for the struggle. I must admit that I don’t always want to be, but I surrender to his plan not mine. So, again, I pray this prayer knowing I don’t walk alone, never, no not ever.

Happy New Year! May you be blessed to be a blessing and may your surrender be a sweet fragrance to Jesus.

Yes, Lord.
I will go where You want me to go.
I will speak what You want me to speak.
I will pause when You want me to pause.
I will pray the dangerous prayers of change.
I will ask to be inconvenienced for Your name sake.
I will say yes to Your invitations that make no sense.
I will. Just because You ask me to. {Lysa Terkeurst}

Yes, Lord, yes!

I love the feeling of the old season fading and the new springing up. The new colors. New smells. New feelings. New desires.

Look around and what do you see?

Is it the new school year? Babies leaving to college? New opportunities? New surroundings? That feeling in your heart of anticipation? Unexpected plans?

Whatever it is that has you feeling change or has your eyes wet with tears of joy or sorrow…God is with you.

You don’t walk in this new season alone. He has gone before you and has been where you’re going. His faithfulness to you has no end. This season will reveal another side of Jesus you haven’t seen. He will not be hidden, but be found by you.

Change can be overwhelming and steal our breath away. Transition is messy. Don’t be discouraged by all of the moving parts, they are necessary. The clearing is meant for our good.

The Lord is asking for our participation. For us to link arms with the One who never fails us. For our trust to be solely on him and in his perfect love for us. He is not done with us, yet. There is so much more to the story. Are you ok with beautiful? Will we let him finish it? 🍁

Can’t Be a Hero Without A Battle

Good morning my friends!! If there is one thing I’m passionate about it’s the truth. Knowing it. Believing it. Living in it. Telling it. In my house we do superheroes all day, everyday. Every superhero movie I’ve ever watched {there’s been A LOT, remember I have 4 boys} there was a battle. In the end good wins {love that} but never before engaging in war. We will have to fight through the bad days, the struggles, the generational curses, the lies, the shame, the regret, and whatever you may be facing today to earn hero status! Victory is already ours, but we will have to fight!!

When he comes charging at you with your past. When he throws darts of shame your way. When he whispers lies of defeat and doom. Fight back with the word of God! Read it! Know it! Declare it!!! The Bible says you are more than a conqueror! You are the righteousness of God! Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world! These are weapons in the hands and tongue of a believer so let’s use them!!! Repeat after me…

“No weapon that is formed against me will succeed; And every tongue that rises against me in judgment I will condemn. This [peace, righteousness, security, and triumph over opposition] is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And this is their vindication from Me,” says the Lord.” {Isaiah 54:17 AMP}

It’s time to suit up and take back what the enemy stole. His time is up. We will be hero’s of faith when all is said and done!! Get your swords out and be ready!! It’s go time!!! ⚔️❤️

There is a battle for your heart. For your faith. For your mind. For your soul. For your purpose. The pursuit is relentless.

The Bible tells us to guard our hearts because it determines the direction of our lives. Our hearts are fragile so we must be good stewards of what we allow to affect it.

It’s like our front door of our house. Do we allow just anyone in? No. I have a ring doorbell that allows me to see who is at my front door. I don’t answer the door if I don’t know who they are. I used to feel bad if I didn’t at least hear them out. After learning the hard way I refuse to do that again.

We have to be diligent to not keep the good out, but to keep harm out. Yes, there will be times we will get hurt and not expect it, but what about allowing those who hurt you back in over and over again? Knowing something or someone is harmful is a benefit because now you can choose whether to allow it in or not.

Choose wisely my friends. Ask Jesus for wisdom and discernment. Read His word. Pray. Cause when the lies, fear, doubts, and threats of the enemy come knocking you’ll know better than to open the door. ❤️

Ponder It

I recall many moments a sweet friend would give me an encouraging word and tell me to “ponder it.” She would always use that word…ponder. I had to look it up because it’s not a word I had ever used. The definition is to think or consider especially quietly, soberly, and deeply. Honestly, I was hesitant because quiet is not my style. Being an external processor I talk things out. My friend on the other hand is the epitome of quiet. She would say very little, but when she spoke you listened. Was I not suppose to talk about the things God has told me?

I’ve come to learn what she meant. What quiet looks like on the inside. How to process in the quietness of Gods presence. How to take what the Lord spoke and let it simmer in my heart like soup cooking over a low flame. Allowing time for the full flavor of it to get down deep where my heart becomes convinced. Considering the words before I speak them knowing how powerful they are. That both life and death are an option by what I speak to myself. Guarding the door of my heart carefully as to not let thieves come in and rob me of the truth.

I’ve come to learn there is a time for everything. A time to speak and a time to listen. I pray you hear me today and consider what the Lord has spoke to you. Keep the words close. Don’t allow others to bring their thoughts before you have your own. Don’t let the dream or vision get cloudy or muddied by opinions. Hold close to your heart what the Lord said and consider it a secret until the appointed time. Just like Mary and my friend Beth, believe in Him who has promised and it will come to pass. ❤️

Comfort and Joy

The other day I woke up singing “oh tidings of comfort and joy” and for some reason it hasn’t left my heart as it’s still singing in me. I was sure there was a reason so I started to dig a little deeper.

“Then young women will dance and be glad, young men and old as well. I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.” Jeremiah 31:13 NIV

The verse speaks of what God will give us in place of something else. He is so good at that. He offers us what only he can give for what has impaired our hope. Our joy. Our healing. Our restoration. Our peace. Our mourning and sorrow can be felt by Him. Our pain is his pain. Our sorrow is his sorrow. He knows all to well the ache of the human heart in times of suffering. He promises to deliver and comfort us from the hand of things stronger than us. Anxiety. Grief. Disappointment. Pain and even death. God is the only one who could do a trade like that. This is what the angel spoke of “Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. You and I are apart of “all” people.

He will give us comfort AND joy. I wrestled with this because of the grief in my heart lately. I desperately needed something and he saw fit to bring me both. The song in my heart confirmed it. He was saying “I will do this for you. I see, hear, and know you. My hands are stronger than the ones that threaten and consume you. I am Immanuel, God with you. Your comforter. Your Father. Your peace. Your joy.”

I don’t know where your heart is today, but I do know Gods heart towards you. It’s full of love, grace, mercy, comfort, and joy. He’s more than enough to fill the empty and broken places in you. This Christmas is more than the tangible gifts, it’s about the intangible that will heal and bless your soul. What a gift!

Merry Christmas from our home to yours!

Peace over you and yours,

Emilie ❤️
